We meet on the sand at Scripps Pier — parents, kids, and a few surf elders. We're not here to teach surfing. We're here to teach our groms the ocean, and ourselves a little patience along the way.
IronShore exists for the moments between the waves — the tide-pool exploring, the long talks on the sand, the cold rinse and the warm car ride home. We are parents, mentors, and surf elders gathered around a simple idea: that the ocean teaches kids what classrooms cannot.
We welcome all skill levels and every form of wave-riding. Come on your own timeline. Stay as long as you like. Push your child if they're up for it; let them dig in the sand if they're not.
The ironshore is the jagged, weather-cut edge where land meets sea — sharp, honest, alive. It rewards attention. We named the club for it because we want our kids to grow into people who pay that kind of attention to the world.
A club only works if its values show up in how members act. Ours are simple, and the work of upholding them belongs to the parents first.
We respect, support, and look after each other.
We look after our beaches and ocean.
Small club, by design. Tell us about your family — we'll send back the next meetup details, the waiver, and what to expect.
